4*14 <br /> "' EV E RETT <br /> Ordinance No. 2036-95 <br /> An Ordinance of the City of Everett Revising the Land Use Map of <br /> the Everett Growth Management Comprehensive Plan <br /> as Adopted by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2021-94, and Adding <br /> A Policy to the Industrial Land Use Policies Related to the Land Use Map. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2021-94 on August 3, 1994 <br /> adopting the Everett Growth Management Comprehensive Plan in accordance with the <br /> requirements of the Washington State Growth Management Act; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Growth Management Act requires that the City's Zoning Map be consistent with <br /> the Land Use Map of the Growth Management Comprehensive Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council did acknowledge in Section 8 of Ordinance No. 2021-94 that the <br /> City Zoning Map must be revised, and that in consideration of revisions to the Zoning Map the <br /> Council would need to consider further refinements to the Land Use Map of the Growth <br /> Management Comprehensive Plan, where appropriate; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett sent by mail to all mailing addresses within the Everett Planning <br /> Area a brochure informing citizens of the recent adoption of the comprehensive plan and the <br /> dates of Planning Commission public hearings to take testimony on the proposed rezone actions <br /> to implement the comprehensive plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City notified owners of property within proposed rezone areas of public hearings <br /> to discuss the proposed rezoning of various parts of the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held public hearings on September 13, 1994, and <br /> September 27, 1994, at which they listened to public testimony, reviewed correspondence, and <br /> deliberated upon each rezone proposal; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held two additional public meetings on October 4, 1994, <br /> and October 18, 1994, to discuss each of the proposed rezone areas, and recommended that <br /> several of the areas proposed to be rezoned should retain the existing zoning or be changed to a <br /> different zoning than suggested by the comprehensive plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, through public testimony and reconsideration of the circumstances affecting several <br /> areas which the Comprehensive Plan had suggested for rezoning, the City Council finds that it is <br /> in the City's best interests to retain the existing zoning or establish a different zoning than <br /> suggested by the Comprehensive Plan land use map; and <br />
