/p� ELSRETT RESOLUTION NO.Z�y! 1 Y A RESOLUTION establishing sixty minute parking on certain downtown streets and authorizing the City Traffic Engineer to make modifications. WHEREAS, EMC 46.08.050 authorizes the City Council to establish parking time limits on city streets; and WHEREAS, the Mayor's Downtown Parking Committee has inventoried available parking demand, studied various options, and recommended that several actions be taken to make parking available to customers of downtown businesses; and WHEREAS, the Mayor's Downtown Parking Committee specifically recommended that seventy percent of downtown core area parking spaces be limited to sixty minute parking; and WHEREAS, the Mayor's Downtown Parking Committee further recommended that key high turnover areas have shorter time limits; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that adequate longer term parking is available in parking garages and private pay lots; and WHEREAS, the need for shorter time limits are constantly changing as downtown land uses change; and WHEREAS, uniformly established time limits are more efficiently enforced; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that: 1) The City Council establishes a parking time limit of sixty minutes from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except Sundays and holidays, on the following city streets: a) Between 26th Street and Pacific Avenue -Rucker Avenue -Hoyt Avenue -Colby Avenue -Wetmore Avenue -Rockefeller Avenue, except the 2600 block and 2700 block, which shall be established as two (2) hour parking b) Between Rucker Avenue and Rockefeller Avenue -26th Street, except the 1400 block and the 1700 block, which shall be established as two (2) hour parking -California Street -Hewitt Avenue -Wall Street -Pacific Avenue; and
