01W
Vii—ma
EVERETT
RESOLUTION NO: 3662
Resolution requesting the Planning Commission
to make a recommendation on a proposed amendment to the
Zoning Code to require that the opportunity for
public input be included in the review process of
proposals to convert structures on the
Historic Register to bed-and-breakfast establishments.
WHEREAS, allowing public input on proposals to convert historic
structures into bed-and-breakfast establishments would require a
change to the existing city Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the city of Everett reviews
proposals and makes recommendations regarding changes to the city
Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes it may be in the public interest to
provide the opportunity for public input into the review of the
conversion of historic structures to bed-and-breakfast establishments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT;
1. The Planning Commission is hereby charged with reviewing and
making a recommendation to the City Council on whether to amend
the Zoning Code to provide for public comment and review of
proposals to convert structures on the Historic Register to bed-
and-breakfast establishments in single-family zones (i.e. R-1 and
R-2) .
2 . This review should consider the need for potential community
- involvement and public input in allowing such conversions in
single-family neighborhoods, including the possibility that
conversions not be allowed as an outright use, but as an optional
use through either an appealable staff review or a public hearing
process.
44c.,,,,'' :D/' ;' ,, 0--/
Councilmember Introducing Resolution
Passed and approved this 26th day / ugust , 1992 .
( K] 'z "v
Council President
