• <br /> Resolution No. 6206 <br /> 'SETT <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing a fixed route fare for comms -r <br /> oriented services equal to Community Transit's local fare <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett and Everett Transit continue to work in cooperation with <br /> Community Transit to provide transit choices to their mutual customers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit and Community Transit have identified potential transit <br /> markets outside the city limits of Everett that are not part of Community Transit's current <br /> or long range service plans; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit and Community Transit mutually agree that Everett Transit <br /> is the more appropriate fixed route service provider for destinations inside the City of <br /> Everett and outside of the Everett Station area, regardless of the point of origin; and <br /> WHEREAS, customers in these potential markets currently pay a fare equal to <br /> Community Transit's or Sound Transit's fixed route fare; and <br /> WHEREAS, in the spirit of mutual interest and cooperation, any Everett Transit fixed <br /> route service operated outside the Everett city limits should not unfairly compete with the <br /> local or regional service providers; and <br /> WHEREAS, current transit customers affected by this resolution will not realize a fare <br /> increase by this proposed action. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT: <br /> Effective December 1, 2009, the fare for Everett Transit fixed route bus service that <br /> either originate outside Everett city limits or whose primary purpose is to connect with <br /> Sound Transit at a regional facility, shall be equal to Community Transit's fixed route <br /> bus service fares at the time of service. However, this does not apply to the Everett <br /> Transit route between Mukilteo and Everett Station, which may have fares greater than or <br /> less than Community Transit's fixed route bus service fares. <br /> Councilperson Introduci g Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 9th day of November, 2009. <br /> rty Council President <br />
