RESOLUTION NO. iq /5-7 <br /> A RESOLUTION amending the General Plan <br /> of the City of Everett as provided for by <br /> Everett Municipal Code Title 2, Section 20, Subsection 120, <br /> to encompass an area north of Merrill Creek Parkway and <br /> east of Merrill and Ring Creek. <br /> WHEREAS, on March 28, 1989, the Planning Commission held a public <br /> hearing regarding the establishment of General Land Use Plan Policies and a <br /> Plan Map designation for the hereinafter depicted property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City adopted the residential element of the General Plan <br /> by Resolution No. 2764 in 1986, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City adopted the Everett General Plan by Resolution No. <br /> 2902 in 1987, "in order to promote consistency of planning policies and land <br /> use designations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds, after reviewing Planning Commission <br /> recommendations at a public hearing on April 19, 1989, as required by R.C.W. <br /> 35.13.170, that Office and Industrial Park (O.I.P.) land uses promote <br /> compatibility with surrounding land uses; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the General Plan designation <br /> hereafter set forth is in the best interest of the City of Everett. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that: <br /> 1. The General Plan designation of Office and Industrial Park (O.I.P.) <br /> for the area shown on the attached map, Exhibit A, is hereby adopted <br /> for the following described property: See attached Legal <br /> Description", Exhibit B. <br /> 2. The General Plan Map at the Planning Department of the City of <br /> Everett shall upon passage of this Resolution be amended as <br /> hereinabove provided. <br /> 3. The Everett General Plan narrative shall be amended as outlined <br /> below: <br /> a) Industrial Land Use Goals and Policies: <br /> Add Goal: <br /> "- To encourage providing mixed-use development within larger <br /> designated office and industrial park properties so long as <br /> they are developed in accordance with an approved master plan." <br /> b) General Policies: <br /> Add Policy #12: <br /> "Because Everett wants to maximize its potential as an <br /> employment and economic center, and because larger developments <br /> which are master planned can provide for orderly land use <br /> transitions within their projects, then mixed use development <br /> comprised of industrial/office, lodging, conference centers and <br /> convenience retail are encouraged." <br /> "Implementation: Allow consideration of mixed-use development <br /> within larger industrial and office park properties in <br /> Southwest Everett." <br />
