RESOLUTION NO . 1916 <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the sole <br /> source purchase of Fiberoptic Ped <br /> Signal retrofit units for downtown <br /> ped signals . <br /> WHEREAS , more than 850 kilowatt-hours per month of energy can <br /> be saved by replacing twenty-four existing ped signals along Hewitt ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS , the existing signals on the north side and west <br /> side of the intersections have sunflare complaints from downtown <br /> peds during winter months when the sun is low and in the summer <br /> evenings ; and <br /> WHEREAS , this creates an emergency; and <br /> WHEREAS , replacing the Don ' t Walk and Walk indications with <br /> a single fiberoptic indication in one of the existing housings will <br /> result in a unit that is less susceptible to damage; and <br /> WHEREAS , Safety Signal in Mountlake Terrace is the sole supp- <br /> lier of the patented Valtec Fiberoptic ped signal retrofit kits ; <br /> NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED THAT A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE <br /> FOR TWENTY-SIX VALTEC FIBEROPTIC PED SIGNAL RETROFIT KITS IS <br /> APPROVED FROM SAFETY SIGNAL IN MOUNTLAKE TERRACE FOR INSTALLATION <br /> ON THE NORTH SIDE OF HEWITT AT RUCKER , HOYT, WETMORE , ROCKEFELLER , <br /> AND ALL CORNERS AT COLBY . <br /> C - <br /> Councilper on IIntrodu ng Resolution <br /> Passed and approved this �,'' day of February, 1981 <br /> rTh <br /> C.bunci fi- Prtes , dent <br />
