' • • <br />• . • 4 . • <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO./X.6047 <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing requirements for connection to available <br /> 3 public sewers and repealing Ordinance No. 1164-85. <br /> 4 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 5 <br /> Section 1 : Connection to Available Public Sewer--Extension--Forced <br /> 6 Connection. <br /> 7 A. Within thirty (30) days from the date a public sewer abuts the <br /> 8 property line of premises on which any residential , industrial , commercial <br /> 9 or public building is placed, the residences, buildings and structures <br /> 10 located thereon in which plumbing facilities and/or sanitary sewers are <br /> 11 installed shall be connected to the public sewer system by means of a side <br /> 12 sewer of a kind and size as required by current City standards. <br /> 13 B. All property owners within 150 feet of a public sanitary sewer <br /> 14 and all property owners adjacent to a street or public right-of-way in which <br /> 15 a public sanitary sewer system is installed and available who fail to <br /> 16 connect their private sewers to the public sewer system after notice to do <br /> 17 so from the Public Works Department shall pay to the City an amount equal to <br /> 18 the sewer service charges established for other users of like kind under the <br /> 19 City's rates and charges; provided that all rates and charges so paid shall <br /> 20 be credited toward the sewer connection charges applicable to said property <br /> 21 at such time as the property is connected. Payments of sewer service and/or <br /> 22 construction charges on unconnected properties received prior to said notice <br /> 23 shall also be retained by the City and credited to applicable sewer <br /> 24 connection charges. <br /> 25 C. The City Engineer may, on written request from the property <br /> 26 owner, extend the time of the required connection to the public sewer for a <br /> 27 maximum period of five (5) years; provided, that the existing on-site sewage <br /> 28 system shall be inspected by the Snohomish Health District at the property <br /> 29 owner's expense and a written report shall be submitted to the Public Works <br /> 30 Department that the on-site sewage system is acceptable to the Snohomish <br /> 31 Health District and suitable and reasonable grounds are shown for such <br /> 32 extension; provided further that in no event shall such time extension <br />
