1 ORDINANCE NO. /4E _ 7 2 AN ORDINANCE assessing fees and penalties for the disposal of 3 animal carcasses with the City of Everett Animal Shelter. 4 5 WHEREAS, the Everett Animal Shelter is required to dispose of animal 6 carcasses on a regular basis; and 7 WHEREAS, the Everett Animal Shelter is charged a fee to dispose of 8 these carcasses based upon the number of animal carcasses and the frequency 9 of pickup required; and 10 WHEREAS, animal carcasses have been deposited at the Everett Animal 11 Shelter without the Shelter's permission which results in the Everett Animal 12 Shelter having to pay for the disposal of these carcasses; and 13 WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the health, safety and welfare of the 14 City of Everett to establish regulations concerning the disposal of animal 15 carcasses with the Everett Animal Shelter; 16 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORAIN: 17 Section 1 : The Director of the Everett Animal Shelter or his/her 18 designee is hereby authorized to establish fees to be charged to those 19 persons, firms or corporations which deposit animal carcasses at the Everett 20 Animal Shelter. 21 Section 2: No person, firm or corporation shall deposit any animal 22 carcass at the Everett Animal Shelter without first obtaining written 23 permission from the Director of the Everett Animal Shelter or his/her 24 designee and having paid the required fee as established by the Director of 25 the Everett Animal Shelter or his/her designee. 26 Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the 27 provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and 28 each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and 29 every unauthorized deposit of animal carcasses, and upon conviction of any 30 such violation, such person, firm or corporation shall be punishable by a 31 32
