1. - / 3c) S„d0 1 ORDINANCE NO. /a 95 0l 2 AN ORDINANCE extending the effective date of the City-wide 3 interim billboard regulations and amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1129-85 and repealing Ordinance No. 1163-85. 4 5 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Ordinance No. 1129-85 established 6 interim billboard regulations for the purpose of acting as a stop-gap 7 measure to enable the City to study the issue of billboards; and 8 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Ordinance No. 1129-85 was 9 effective until September 30, 1985; and 10 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that through the adoption of Ordinance 11 No. 1163-85 the effective date was extended through December 31, 1985; and 12 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that as a result of the study of this 13 issue billboard ordinances are currently being reviewed by the City's 14 Planning Commission; and 15 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Planning Commission needs 16 additional time to consider the billboard ordinances; and 17 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the effective date of the interim 18 billboard ordinance needs to be extended in order to provide adequate time 19 for additional review of the ordinances by the Planning Commission; and 20 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proper notice has been provided to 21 the citizens of Everett and that a public hearing has been held concerning 22 the adoption of this ordinance; 23 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 24 Section 1: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1129-85 as amended by 25 Ordinance No. 1163-85 which reads as follows: 26 27 Section 5: That this ordinance will be in effect until December 31, 1985, unless extended by the Everett City Council or 28 earlier terminated.
