ORDINANCE NO./ors: <br /> - <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance 1019-84, Section 6, that <br /> adds a new program for 7th SE and 88th, adds a new program for <br /> reconstruction of the 41st Street and Rucker-Colby signals, and <br /> corrects the total sum of Fund 368. <br /> WHEREAS, Traffic Engineering improvements are frequently reimbursed by <br /> Federal, State or other sources requiring separate funding that does not lapse but <br /> carries forward year to year until expended; and <br /> WHEREAS, these individual projects are not large enough to warrant a separate <br /> plans and systems ordinance and fund; and <br /> WHEREAS, the various Traffic Engineering projects are of similar character and <br /> accounting actions and are included in the annual Transportation Improvement Plan <br /> (TIP); <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund 368, entitled <br /> "Traffic Engineering Improvements Construction Fund", for the preliminary engineering <br /> and construction activities required to construct the Traffic Engineering safety <br /> improvements defined in the following sections. <br /> Section 2: Authorization is given providing for Traffic Engineering safety <br /> improvements at: <br /> 42nd Street Bridge Traffic Warning Devices (formerly called 42nd Street <br /> Attenuator) <br /> Lombard Bridge Deck Replacement and Abuttment Safety Treatment <br /> Everett Avenue Signal Coordination and Controller Replacement <br /> 1984 Interim Traffic Signals (previously called Temporary Signals) <br /> Pacific Avenue Railroad Rubber Crossing <br /> Section 3: The total estimated cost of the Traffic Engineering safety <br /> improvements is $681,000 which shall include all cost of the design, plans, <br /> specifications, construction, and associated costs. <br /> Section 4: The City Engineer/City Traffic Engineer of the City of Everett, under <br /> the administration of the Mayor, is hereby given responsibility of providing for the <br /> construction of the improvements as defined herein. <br /> Section 5: The City Treasurer of the City of Everett is authorized to issue <br /> construction warrants as funds are required to a local bank for interim construction <br /> financing at a reasonable rate of interest. <br /> Section 6: The sum of $681,000 be appropriated to Fund 368, Traffic Engineering <br /> Improvements, for the purposes of completing preliminary engineering and constructing <br /> Traffic Engineering safety improvements as follows: <br /> a. Program 290, 42nd Street Bridge Warning Device <br /> 1. Appropriation $ 6,500 <br /> 2. Source of Funds <br /> HHS $ 5,800 <br /> �i Gas Tax $ 700 <br />
