4 <br /> 010111W <br /> 411111/ 1111.,:e4 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 6630 <br /> A Resolution relating to Taxicab Rates and revising Section 30 of <br /> Ordinance No. 2297-98, as amended (EMC 5.68.290). <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2297-98, as amended, authorizes the City Council to modify the <br /> City's for-hire rates by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council has considered the request of for-hire vehicle drivers for a rate <br /> adjustment; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council has determined that the current rate of$2.30 per mile should be <br /> adjusted to $2.50 per mile to adequately compensate for-hire drivers and assure economic <br /> viability within the City; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> Section 1. <br /> Section 30 of Ordinance No. 2297-98, as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2306-98, <br /> Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2773-04, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2880-05, and Section 2 of <br /> Ordinance No. 3163-09 (EMC 5.68.290), which reads as follows: <br /> Rates. <br /> A. Except for special or contract rates and rates for special service vehicles, as provided <br /> for in this chapter, it shall be unlawful for anyone operating a taxicab licensed by the <br /> city to charge, demand or receive any greater or lesser rate than the following: <br /> 1. Taxicab. <br /> a. To be determined by the taximeter: <br /> i. Upon activation of the taximeter, two dollars and fifty cents; <br /> ii. For each succeeding one mile, two dollars and thirty cents; twenty-three <br /> cents for each one-tenth mile or fraction thereof; <br /> iii.
