. , <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6 p <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE setting forth the fines for parking violations, making it a <br /> 3 violation to park improperly and amending the Model Traffic <br /> Ordinance No. 459-77 and repealing Section 5 of Ordinance No. 439- <br /> 4 77. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the Model Traffic Ordinance; and <br /> 7 WHEREAS, the Model Traffic Ordinance sets forth the following as being <br /> 8 violations: expired meter, feeding meter, fire zone, restricted area, truck zone, bus <br /> 9 zone, improper parking as it relates to metered parking, wrong side of street, blocking <br /> 10 alley, parking on sidewalk, unattended motor running, unattended keys in car, and other <br /> 11 violations; and <br /> 12 WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance covering alley parking; <br /> 13 and <br /> 14 WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a resolution designating the allowed <br /> 15 time in non-metered parking areas; <br /> 16 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 17 Section 1: The Model Traffic Ordinance No. 459-77 is hereby amended by the <br /> 18 addition of the following sections: <br /> 19 <br /> Section 25: Improper Parking - Time Limitations. <br /> 20 <br /> No person shall park a vehicle in any manner which violates an <br /> 21 ordinance of the City of Everett. No person shall park a vehicle in any <br /> designated parking space so that any part of such vehicle occupies more <br /> 22 than one such space or protrudes beyond the markings designating such <br /> space, except that a vehicle which is of a size too large to be parked <br /> 23 within a single designated parking space shall be permitted to occupy two <br /> adjoining parking spaces. <br /> 24 No person shall park a vehicle in any parking space for a period of <br /> time longer than the period of time allowed in that time zone. Once a <br /> 25 vehicle remains in a parking space beyond the time which the time zone <br /> permits, then each subsequent period of time for which the vehicle <br /> 26 remains beyond the period of time allowed in that time zone shall <br /> constitute a separate overtime violation. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
