ORDINANCE NO. 1/ 4 - 7y <br /> QR O. 3/D-75/ <br /> AN ORDINANCE adopting that certain code known as the <br /> 1973 edition of the Uniform Fire Code and Appendices <br /> A, B, D and E recommended by the Western Fire Chiefs ' <br /> Association and the Engineers ' Conference of Building <br /> Officials; prescribing regulations governing conditions <br /> hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion; <br /> repealing Sections 1 through 10 of Ordinance No. 221-73 <br /> (ECC 7 . 04 . 010-110) and Sections 1 through 5 of Ordinance <br /> No. 461 (ECC 2 . 28 . 010-050) and providing for a form for <br /> violations thereof and providing for a form for Fire <br /> Marshal orders and conditions under which Fire Marshal <br /> orders may be issued, providing for appeal therefrom <br /> and creating an Appeal Board. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: (ECC 7 . 04 . 010 - Adoption of Uniform Fire <br /> Code <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City of Everett for the <br /> purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions <br /> hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, that <br /> certain Code known as the Uniform Fire Code and Appendices A, <br /> B, D and E recommended by the Western Fire Chiefs Association <br /> and the International Conference of Building Officials being <br /> particularly the 1973 edition thereof and the whole thereof, <br /> save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, <br /> modified or amended by Section 6 of this ordinance of which <br /> Code not less than three (3) copies have been and are now <br /> filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Everett <br /> and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as <br /> if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this <br /> ordinance shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be <br /> controlling within the limits of the City of Everett. <br /> Section 2 : (ECC 7 . 04 . 020) - Establishment of Bureau of <br /> Fire Prevention <br /> The Bureau of Fire Prevention is hereby created, which <br /> Bureau shall enforce the provisions of the Fire Prevention <br /> Code. The Fire Marshal shall be the Chief of the Bureau of <br /> Fire Prevention and shall take his orders from the Chief of <br /> the Fire Department. <br /> -1- <br />
