• <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO.(5,24q —72 <br /> AN ORDINANCE requiring registration and restricting <br /> 1 the keeping, harboring or maintaining domestic <br /> animals and amending E .C.C. 10.24.011 <br /> 2 (Ordinance No. 4027, subsection 3) . <br /> " 3 <br /> 4 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 5 Section 1: Everett City Code 10.24.011 (Ordinance No. 4027, <br /> 6 subsection 3) shall be amended to read hereafter as follows: <br /> 7 "10.24.011 Restriction on keeping, harboring or maintain- <br /> 8 ing domestic animals - - Exception. <br /> 9 All persons, except the City of Everett, harboring, maintain- <br /> ing or possessing any horses, cows, goats, pigs, sheep or <br /> 10 similar domestic animal or animals within the City of Everett <br /> shall register said animal or animals so maintained within <br /> 11 the city limits with the poundmaster of the City of Everett <br /> 12 within five days after acquisition. It shall be unlawful for any <br /> person to keep, harbor or maintain any of the aforesaid <br /> 13 animals for which such person does not own, hold or have <br /> in his possession a current registration certificate issued by <br /> 14 the poundmaster of the City of Everett herein provided. <br /> 15 A registration fee of ten dollars per head of livestock shall <br /> be paid to the poundmaster at the time of registration. Except <br /> 16 that the secretary or other appointed officer of any bona fide <br /> 17 riding club, 4H group or similar organization may register the <br /> animal or animals under the name of the specific organization <br /> 18 by paying a registration fee of five dollars per head of livestock <br /> and furnishing all information, hereinafter stated or deemed <br /> 19 necessary to the poundmaster of the City of Everett. <br /> 20 Upon registration, the poundmaster shall issue a registration <br /> 21 certificate containing a description of the animal, its location, <br /> the type of shelter and the name of its owner, provided the <br /> 22 owner has under his control suitable stables or shelter which <br /> at the time of its construction or commencement of use is <br /> 23 located not closer than fifty feet from any inhabitable <br /> residence, apartment house or hotel owned or occupied <br /> 24 by some person or persons other than the one maintaining <br /> 25 - such stable or shelter of said owner, unless otherwise <br /> provided for in the ordinances of the City of Everett, <br /> 26 together with a minimum land area devoted to the <br /> pasturing and/or sheltering of said animals, of twenty-two <br /> 27 thousand square feet per head of livestock. The young or <br /> issue of such animal may be kept for a period of six months <br /> 28 without registration or without providing additional land <br /> 29 area. 'Animal' as used in this section, means a horse, <br /> cow, goat, pig or sheep or other similar domestic animal. <br /> 30 <br /> Any stable or shelter which does not conform to this Ordinance <br /> 31 may not be: (1) re-established after discontinuance for <br /> one year; (2) extended except in conformity to this Ordinance; <br /> 32 <br />
