ORDINANCE NO. 2,24,`"7 j • AN ORDINANCE establishing the license fees for merchant (security) policemen, private detectives, merchant patrol agencies and private detective agencies; 1 repealing Sections 93-96 of Ordinance No. 2513 2 (E. C. C. 3. 48. 010 - 3. 48. 040) and declaring an emergency to exist. 3 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 4 Section 1: License--Required. 5 It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, association, copartnershi• 6 or any other organization of any kind to act as or carry on the occupation 7 of merchant (security) patrolman or merchant patrol agency, or private 8 detective or private detective agency within the limits of the City of Everett 9 without first having made the application therefor to the City Clerk and 10 approved by the Chief of Police pursuant to a security clearance and issued 11 a license from the City Clerk of the City of Everett for the carrying on of 12 said occupation or acting as such merchant (security) patrolman, merchant 13 patrol agency or private detective or private detective agency. 14 Section 2: Individual license--Required. 15 It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, association, copartnershi' 16 or any other organization of any kind to employ or cause to be employed any 17 merchant (security) patrolman or private detective, or any other person 18 or persons to act as such within the limits of the City of Everett, who has not 19 first made application and obtained a license as provided in this chapter, to 20 carry on such business or occupation. 21 Section 3: Application--Required--To state nature of work. 22 It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, association, copartnershi.' 23 or any other organization of any kind to carry on the business of merchant 24 (security) patrolman or private detective or to act as such within the limits 25 of the City of Everett without first having made application to the City Clerk 26 of the City of Everett for a license, and without first having obtained such 27 license as provided in this chapter, to carry on such business or occupation, 28 in which application shall be given the name and residence of the applicant 29 and a brief statement specifying in detail the nature of the work in which the Y 30 applicant intends to engage, and carry on within the City of Everett. Appli- 31 cant for merchant (security) patrolman and private detective shall also 32 provide the City Clerk with two pictures of the applicant and the applicant's fingerprints.
