CITY <br /> CITY OF EVERETT <br /> LODGING TAX GRANT MEMORANDUM <br /> This Memorandum created this e9SCday of , 2019, by the City of Everett, a municipal <br /> corporation under the laws of the State of Was referred to as the"City," <br /> � � � y� <br /> memorializes an allocation,not to exceed eighty-two thousand two hundred and thirty six dollars <br /> ($82,236), of the City's Lodging Tax revenue to Everett Parks and Community Services,to be used for <br /> tourism promotion in connection with Jetty Island Days. <br /> City of Everett Lodging Tax revenue is allocated for the purpose of encouraging tourism within the City, <br /> with a particular focus of attracting potential tourists living outside of the City. Therefore, Everett Parks <br /> and Community Services will use the funds allocated under this memorandum to provide tourism <br /> promotion for Jetty Island Days. "Tourism promotion"means, for the purpose of this Agreement, <br /> activities, operations, and expenditures designed to increase tourism, including but not limited to <br /> advertising,publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and <br /> welcoming tourists; developing strategies to expand tourism; operating tourism promotion agencies; and <br /> funding the marketing of or the operation of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists. <br /> Everett Parks and Community Services shall, in accordance with its 2019 proposal,which proposal is <br /> attached and incorporated herein by reference, use all funds to support Jetty Island Days and to promote <br /> the event through print and poster, bus, and print advertising. <br /> As a condition of the allocation, Everett Parks and Community Services must,within thirty(30)days of <br /> the end of the event, submit to the City's Budget Manager, Rae Ann Nielsen,an Economic Impact <br /> Report, including, at a minimum the actual number of people attending the event: <br /> • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip away from their place of residence or business <br /> and staying overnight in paid accommodations; <br /> • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip to a place fifty miles or more one way from their <br /> place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight; and <br /> • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip from another country or state outside of their <br /> place of residence or their business. <br /> Mayor Cas�icT'rzrrikhri Date <br /> cc: Kimberly Shelton <br /> Deb Williams <br /> Rae Ann Nielsen <br /> A T ' ST: <br /> AP—OVED AS ' G <br /> A# /.' /►.,� City Clerk <br /> JAM S D.IIES,City Attorney <br />
