_ t <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 4 - 6, <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for clothing allowance for uniformed personnel in <br /> the Fire and Police Departments and non-uniformed personnel in the Police <br /> Department and repealing Ordinances No. 3786 and 3793 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That the Fire Department will purchase and replace the following <br /> items of clothing: helmets, boots, turn-out trousers, turn-out coats, suspenders <br /> and any specialized fire fighting clothing as required by the Chief, subject to <br /> Council approval. Each uniformed member, after completion of 9 months probationary <br /> period and having received, permanent appointment, will be responsible for <br /> purchasing all other clothing as specified by the Chief and will be reimbursed with <br /> $75.00 for clothing replacement allowance each year. Said allowance shall be paid <br /> each year in December. <br /> Section 2: That the Police Department will purchase the following items of <br /> clothing: badges, coats, caps, helmets, coveralls and any specialized police <br /> equipment, not including uniforms, required by the Chief, subject to Council <br /> approval, and replace clothing of all personnel, except clerical, damaged as <br /> a consequence of the performance of their duties. Each uniformed member, after <br /> completion of 9 months probationary period and having received a permanent <br /> appointment, will be responsible for purchasing all other clothing as specified <br /> by the Chief and will be reimbursed with $75.00 for clothing replacement <br /> allowance each year. Said allowance shall be paid each year in December. <br /> Section 3: That non-uniformed personnel of the Police Department are hereby <br /> allowed, in addition to replacement of clothing damaged in line of duty, the <br /> sum of $75.00 per year as a clothing allowance, which shall be a part of their <br /> contract of employment in addition to their regular salary. <br /> Section 4. That an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance <br /> shall take effect on January 1, 1968. <br /> Section 5: That Ordinances No. 3786 and 3793 be and the same are hereby <br /> repealed. <br /> May <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk-Cciptrol ler <br /> Passed: j Z 7 _G <br /> Published: / )- <br />
