ORDINANCE N0._4 .5 4) <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Everett City Code 14.12.020 dealing with sewer rates for flat <br /> and metered accounts, and declaring an emergency to exist. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Everett City Code 14.12.020 is hereby amended to read as follows : <br /> 14.12.020 Charges and rates for sanitary sewerage service. The classes of users <br /> connected and to be connected to the sanitary sewerage system or the combined <br /> sewerage system and the charges for sewerage service for each are hereby fixed as <br /> follows : <br /> I. Properties served by the Everett municipal water system within the corporate <br /> limits of the city: <br /> A. Flat rate domestic water accounts: <br /> 1. Single family dwellings - $2.25 per month. <br /> 2. Multiple family dwellings - $2.25 per month for first living unit, plus <br /> $2.00 for each additional living unit. (A living unit is defined as one <br /> or more habitable rooms which are occupied, rented, hired out to be <br /> occupied, or intended to be occupied by one family consisting of one or <br /> more persons for living, sleeping and eating.) <br /> B. Metered water accounts: <br /> 1. Where service is to a single family dwelling, multiple family dwelling, <br /> duplex, triplex, etc. , apartment house, the rate for sewer service shall be <br /> $2.25 per month for the first living unit, plus $2.00 per month for each <br /> additional living unit. (A living unit is defined as one or more habitable <br /> rooms which are occupied, rented, hired out to be occupied, or intended to <br /> be occupied by one family consisting of one or more persons for living, <br /> sleeping, and eating.) <br /> 2. All motels, hotels, lodging houses and boarding houses shall be charged as <br /> provided in Section 1. B 3. If for any reason a meter is not installed to <br /> the premises, the owner shall pay on the same basis as a multiple family <br /> dwelling. <br /> 3. For all other accounts served through a City water meter, the rate for <br /> sewerage service shall be $2.50 per month for the first 1,000 cubic feet of <br /> water or any part thereof measured through the water meter per month, plus <br /> $0.20 per each additional 100 cubic feet of water measured through the water <br /> meter during the same monthly period. <br /> In the event a city approved water or sewage metering device shall be <br /> installed by the person in control at his expense as provided in Everett City <br /> Code 14.12.030, the monthly sewerage service charge shall be $2.50 for the <br /> first 1,000 cubic feet of water and/or sewage measured through said special <br /> meter per month, plus $0.20 for each additional 100 cubic feet of water (and/or <br /> sewage) measured through said special meter during the same month. <br /> In the event there is no reasonable way to accurately determine the amount of <br /> water being returned to the sewerage system, than an agreement may be made <br /> providing that the consumer shall be charged a minimum monthly sewerage service <br /> charge of $2.50 basic minimum for an allowance of up to 1,000 cubic feet per <br /> month of water or sewerage plus $0.20 per each additional 100 cubic feet of <br /> water or sewage computed by the following formula: 100 cubic feet per month <br /> times the number of employees, students, inmates, or such described individual <br /> making use of or employed at the facility to which the city is providing <br /> sewerage service. This agreement, however, shall be subject to the approval of <br /> the City Council of the City of Everett. <br />
