PLANN/NE AND Allan Giffen
COAMIIUN/TY DEYELOPAIIENT Director
April 6, 2006
Mr. Dean Summers
2818 Wetmore Avenue
Everett, WA 98201
RE: Business License Approval and Other City Requirements
Dear Mr. Summers:
On April 4th, 2006, you submitted two business license applications to the City Clerk's
office, the first for coffee shop and the second for a restaurant and bar to be located at
2818 Wetmore Avenue. These proposed uses are consistent with the requirements
contained in Ordinance Number 2899-06 (ordinance containing interim regulations for
specified uses in downtown Everett). By this letter;the Planning Department formally
finds that the coffee shop, restaurant and bar are permitted uses at 2818 Wetmore.
The next step will be for you to obtain all necessary approvals from both the Building and
Fire Departments. Please contact Tony Lee in the Building Department at(425)257-
8812 to arrange appropriate inspections and to determine Building Permit requirements.
• You will also need to contact Brad Olson, the Assistant Fire Marshal at(425)257-8122,
who will also need to inspect the structure to determine all Fire Code requirements.
In addition, if you are proposing a new sign or signs for the facility you should coordinate
the review with Steve Ingalsbe at the zoning counter at 3200 Cedar Street. If you wish to
set an appointment, you should call Steve at(425) 257-8941. Any signs proposed must
meet the standards contained in Chapter 36 of the Zoning Code, which establishes the
sign regulations for the city.
Another concern is the need for garbage receptacles on site. Section 39.080 of the
Zoning Code requires garbage receptacles to be located adjacent to the alley and that
these facilities must be screened from view from streets and adjacent properties. This
screening can be accomplished through the installation of vegetation or placing the
garbage containers inside a structural enclosure. You should also be aware that Sectio
39.110 of the Zoning Code prohibits the accumulation of paper, trash, cloth and other
debris on property in the city. These regulations make the provision of garbage
receptacles all the more important.
,/:6)
CITY OF EVERETT•2930 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 8-A• Everett, WA 98201 • (425)257-8731 • Fax(4
