PLANNING AND Allan Giffer
CO/M/IIUNITY DEVELOFAIENT Director
March 31, 2006 RECEIVED (( y,V[
Mr. Dean Summers 4. ECF
V D
2818 Wetmore Avenue AP ` 2006 , 2006
Everett, WA 98201 R © "
r4.1 SEI U T 3 ` CITY OF EVERETT
RE: Business license CM(
Attnrnev's Office
Dear Mr. Summers:
You submitted a business license application to the City Clerk's office on March 22,
2006, for a coffee shop to be located at 2818 Wetmore Avenue. In a meeting with Gerry
Ervine of the Planning Department on Friday, March 24, 2006, you verbally withdrew
your business license application. Therefore, at this time the City does not have an active
business license application to consider for the subject property.
At the meeting on March 24th you provided Mr. Ervine with a narrative of several uses
you have in mind for the building. It would appear that several of the uses in your
narrative would not be permitted under Ordinance No. 2899-06, a copy of which was
hand-delivered to you by Leslie Tidball of the City Attorney's office.
The building may be used for uses listed as permitted uses in the Everett Zoning Code for
the B-3 zone, unless otherwise prohibited by Ordinance No. 2899-06. I recommend that
you review the permitted and prohibited uses for the B-3 zone. If there is a use that is
permitted that you would like to establish in the building, I suggest that you complete
another business license application and meet again with Mr. Ervine. If approved as a
permitted use, you will then be required to meet all applicable building and fire codes.
Mr. Ervine can assist your efforts by coordinating with other City department personnel
to advise you of all applicable building and fire codes, and other regulations affecting use
of the property, such as sign permits, proper disposal of garbage and minimum property
maintenance. You can contact Mr. Ervine at(425)257-8731.
Sincerely,
A4P
Allan Giffen
Director
Cc Gerry Ervine
Sharon Marks, City Clerk \1
7PY
CITY OF EVERETT• 2930 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 8-A• Everett, WA 98201 • (425)257-8731 • Fax(425) 257-8742
