For your convenience and to expedite the review and <br /> approval process, your original comments are included and NELSON responses are provided in <br /> BOLD. <br /> Architectural <br /> 1. Room 106 on Sheet Al-1 shall provide maneuvering clearance for the pull side of the door per <br /> ICC A117.1-09 Section 404.2.3.2. It appears the clearance is intended to satisfy the <br /> requirements shown in Figure 404.2.3.2(f). The minimum clearances shall be specified on the <br /> plans. If Door 106 includes a closer, the clearance perpendicular to the wall shall be increased <br /> to 54 inches. See IBC Section 1101.2. <br /> NELSON Response: Door swing has been amended to swing outward.This change <br /> allows the room to have proper push-side maneuvering clearance. This door will not <br /> have a closer installed. The clearances are shown on the plan as dashed lines and <br /> associated dimensions clearly annotated. <br /> 2. Door 104 on Plan 1/A1-1 shall provide a minimum latch clearance width of 12 for the pull side of <br /> the door if a closer is provided. See ICC A117.1-09 Section 404.2.3.2 and Figures 404.2.3.2(b) <br /> and 404.2.3.2(e). The minimum clearance shall be specified on the plan. The adjacent fire <br /> extinguisher cabinet (i.e., identified as"FEC"on the plans shall not protrude into the clearance <br /> space.
