• • <br /> t <br /> The officers, assistants and employees in the Department of Safety <br /> shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Safety. <br /> All persons paid on an hourly basis as hereinafter or herein set forth <br /> shall be c:insidered and be day laborers as defined by the City Charter <br /> governing Civil Service. (1. 16.270) <br /> Section 27: The City Commissioners of the City of Everett hereby find <br /> that greater performance and efficiency can be secured from the city <br /> employees who have adequate medical care furnished on a uniform basis <br /> and that it is for the best interest of the City of Everett to furnish <br /> medical care as a part of the consideration of employment. (1. 16.280) <br /> Section 28: The City Commissioners of the City of Everett shall provide <br /> as part of the compensation to be paid all city employees of the City <br /> of Everett, except policemen, firemen and temporary employees, a prepaid <br /> medical plan at a cost of not to exceed $6.00 per month per employee. <br /> Section 29: There is hereby established a pay range code for non- <br /> uniform employees of the City of Everett and all references to said code <br /> in this ordinance shall be by number preceded by the letter "R". This <br /> code shall not apply to all persons who are not allocated a code range <br /> number. <br /> The pay range code as hereinafter set forth, establishes the salary <br /> range based on years of service of each employee, except as hereinafter <br /> modified and limited.
