(1. 16.260) Section 26: The appointment of all employees in all departments, where required by the City Charter, shall be subject to Civil Service regulations of the City of Everett, providing in event vacancies occur and there is no eligibility list from which said vacancy may be filled, temporary appointment may be made of persons without Civil Service standing. The Special City Attorney shall be appointed by the C_'ty Council. The Assistant and Special Examiners in the Civil Service Department shall be appointed by the Civil Service Commission. The Assistarits' andcemployees in the Department of Finance shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Finance. . The officers, except City Engineer, assistants and employees in the Department of Public Works shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public Works. The City Council shall appoint a City Clerk, City Attorney, Treasurer and City Engineer, as provided by Section 24 of the Charter. -9-
