Plans for such system shall be submitted to the Fire Marshal for review and approval prior
to installation. Installation of fire
alarm components, including basic wiring, may not commence before plans are
approved by the Fire Department Plan Reviewer. Fire alarm drawings must be
professionally rendered, in sufficient detail, and must be internally consistent. Riser
diagrams must match installation plans and load calculations. Components must be listed
and approved for use together. Changes to plans must include new drawings and
calculations and must be approved by the Fire Department Plan Reviewer prior to
installation. Fire alarm installation is subject to field inspection by a Fire Department
Inspector. An approved set of plans and the Engineering & Public Services Department
electrical permit must be present for any installation inspection.
Fire alarm systems shall be installed under permit of the City of Everett Engineering &
Public Services Department. Electrical inspections and approval are required prior to
calling for acceptance tests. For permit information call (425) 257-8810.
The absence of working phone lines for the alarm system will be cause for
postponing fire department inspection and testing and shall result in denial of
occupancy.
10. Permits are required from the Fire Department for removal and installation of
underground fuel tanks.
12. Fire flow for this site is an issue that must be resolved; 2000 gpm is the minimum
requirement with a residual pressure of 20 psi at the hydrant. The hydrant at 45th and
Rucker flows 236 gpm, and the hydrant at the 4500 block of Evergreen Way (west side)
flows 1208 gpm; because of traffic density at this location EFD cannot lay a supply line
across Evergreen Way. A minimum of 2 hydrants that flew at least 1000 gpm or one
hydrant that flows at least 2000 gpm is required.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Puget Sound Energy is the natural gas provider in this area. To initiate new service
orders, please contact Marilyn Davis Wesllund at (425) 356-7512 at least 90 days prior to
the required in-service date.
U//
