October 9, 2019 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., <br /> October 9, 2019, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. Moore Historic <br /> City Hall, Council President Bader presiding. Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor <br /> Franklin and Council Members Roberts, Murphy, Vogeli, Bader, Stonecipher, and <br /> Tuohy were present. Council Member Moore was excused. <br /> President Bader asked for a moment of silence in remembrance and honor of <br /> former council member and long-time Everett Civic leader Carl Gipson who passed <br /> away this week. <br /> Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the October 2, 2019, City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. Council Member Bader abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin recognized Carl Gipson for the many years of dedicated service to <br /> the city and residents. She stated Mr. Gipson served on the Everett City Council <br /> for 24 years. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Murphy echoed comments about Mr. Gipson's service to the city, <br /> as well as the United States Military and offered condolences to the Gipson family. <br /> Council Member Murphy announced the 2020 lodging tax applications will be <br /> available this Friday. He noted the submittal deadline is November 14 by 5 p.m. <br /> and interested persons with questions may call the City Council office. He also <br /> provided a report on his attendance at the Riverside Neighborhood meeting last <br /> evening. <br /> Council Member Roberts spoke about Carl Gipson's service and offered <br /> condolences to the Gipson family. He announced the Planning Commission is <br /> holding a public workshop on the draft Climate Action Plan next Tuesday at <br /> 300 <br />
