I <br /> 1 tightened to a torque of 32 foot-pounds. Each luminaire shall include leveling reference <br /> 2 points for both transverse and longitudinal adjustment. <br /> I 3 <br /> 4 All luminaires shall include shorting caps when shipped. The caps shall be removed and <br /> 5 provided to the Contracting Agency when an alternate control device is required to be <br /> I <br /> 6 <br /> 7 installed in the photocell socket. House side shields shall be included when required by the <br /> Contract. Order codes shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to include the <br /> 8 option for house side shields. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 This section is supplemented with the following new subsections: <br /> 11 <br /> 12 9-29.10(1)A High Pressure Sodium (HPS) Conventional Roadway Luminaires <br /> 13 HPS conventional roadway luminaires shall meet the following requirements: <br /> 14 <br /> 15 1. General shape shall be "cobrahead" style, with flat glass lens and full cutoff optics. <br /> I 16 <br /> 17 2. Light pattern distribution shall be IES Type Ill. <br /> 18 <br /> I19 3. The reflector of all luminaires shall be of a snap-in design or secured with screws. <br /> 20 The reflector shall be polished aluminum or prismatic borosilicate glass. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 4. Flat lenses shall be formed from heat resistant, high-impact, molded borosilicate <br /> I <br /> 23 <br /> 24 or tempered glass. <br /> 25 5. The lens shall be mounted in a doorframe assembly, which shall be hinged to the <br /> I <br /> 26 <br /> 27 luminaire and secured in the closed position to the luminaire by means of an <br /> automatic latch. The lens and doorframe assembly, when closed, shall exert <br /> 28 pressure against a gasket seat. The lens shall not allow any light output above 90 <br /> 29 degrees nadir. Gaskets shall be composed of material capable of withstanding the <br /> I 30 temperatures involved and shall be securely held in place. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 6. The ballast shall be mounted on a separate exterior door, which shall be hinged to <br /> I 33 the luminaire and secured in the closed position to the luminaire housing by <br /> 34 means of an automatic type of latch (a combination hex/slot stainless steel screw <br /> 35 fastener may supplement the automatic-type latch). <br /> I 36 <br /> 37 7. Each luminaire shall be capable of accepting a 150, 200, 250, 310, or 400 watt <br /> 38 lamp complete and associated ballast. Lamps shall mount horizontally. <br /> 49 <br /> I40 9-29.10(1)6 Light Emitting Diode (LED) Conventional Roadway Luminaires <br /> 41 LED Conventional Roadway Luminaires are divided into classes based on their equivalent <br /> 42 High Pressure Sodium (HPS) luminaires. Current classes are 200W, 250W, 310W, and <br /> I 43 400W. LED luminaires are required to be pre-approved in order to verify their photometric <br /> 44 output. To be considered for pre-approval, LED luminaires must meet the requirements of <br /> 45 this section. <br /> I 46 <br /> 47 LED luminaires shall include a removable access door, with tool-less entry, for access to <br /> 48 electronic components and the terminal block. The access door shall be removable, but <br /> I <br /> 49 include positive retention such that it can hang freely without disconnecting from the <br /> 50 luminaire housing.
