I 1 For excavations that have soil types and slopegeometries -
yp defined in WAC 296 155 part N
2 and are between 4-feet and 20-feet in height, the Contractor shall submit Type 2 Working
I 3
4 Drawings. Required submittal elements include, at a minimum, the following:
5 1. A plan view showing the limits of the excavation and its relationship to traffic,
I 6 structures, utilities and other pertinent project elements. If the stability of the
7 excavation requires no-load zones or equipment setback distances, those shall be
8 shown on the plan view.
9
I10 2. A typical or controlling cross section showing the proposed excavation, original
11 ground line, and locations of traffic, existing structures, utilities, site constraints,
12 surcharge loads, or other conditions that could affect the stability of the slope. If
I 13 the stability of the excavation requires no-load zones or equipment setback
14 distances, those shall be shown in cross section.
15
I
16
17 3. A summary clearly describing subsurface conditions, soil type for WAC 296-155
part N, and groundwater conditions, sequencing considerations, and governing
18 assumptions.
19
I20 Where WAC 296-155 part N requires an engineer's design, the Contractor shall submit
21 Type 2E Working Drawings. Required submittal elements include, at a minimum, the three
22 items above and the following additional items:
I 23
24 4. Supporting calculations for the design of the excavation, the soil and material
25 properties selected for design, and the justification for the selection for those
I 26 properties, in accordance with the WSDOT Geotechnical Design Manual M 46-03.
27
28 5. Safety factors, or load and resistance factors used, and justification for their
29 selection, in accordance with the WSDOT Geotechnical Design Manual M 46-03,
I 30 and referenced AASHTO design manuals.
31
32 6. A monitoring plan to evaluate the excavation performance throughout its
I 33 design life.
34
35 7. Any supplemental subsurface explorations made by the Contractor to meet the
I 36 requirements for geotechnical design of excavation slopes, in accordance with the
37 WSDOT Geotechnical Design Manual M 46-03.
38
I 39 2-09.3(3)D Shoring and Cofferdams
40 The first sentence of the sixth paragraph is revised to read:
41
42 Structural shoring and cofferdams shall be designed for conditions stated in this Section
I 43 using methods shown in Division I Section 5 of the AASHTO Standard Specifications for
44 Highway Bridges Seventeenth Edition — 2002 for allowable stress design, or the AASHTO
45 LRFD Bridge Design Specifications for load and resistance factor design.
I 46
I
I City of EverettPage AM-13 Amendments
Everett Station 80 Stall Parking Expansion June 2019
1
