I <br /> I 1 The Contracting Agency may have a National Pollution Discharge <br /> Elimination System <br /> 2 Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSWGP) as identified in the Contract Special <br /> I <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Provisions. The Contracting Agency may or may not transfer coverage of the CSWGP to <br /> the Contractor when a CSWGP has been obtained. The Contracting Agency may not have <br /> 5 a CSWGP for the project but may have another water quality related permit as identified in <br /> I 6 the Contract Special Provisions or the Contracting Agency may not have water quality <br /> 7 related permits but the project is subject to applicable laws for the Work. Section 8-01 <br /> 8 covers all of these conditions. <br /> 9 <br /> I10 This section is supplemented with the following new subsection: <br /> 11 <br /> 12 8-01.1(1) Definitions <br /> I 13 1. pH Affected Stormwater <br /> 14 <br /> 15 a. Stormwater contacting green concrete (concrete that has set/stiffen but is still <br /> I <br /> 16 curing), recycled concrete, or engineered soils (as defined in the Construction <br /> 17 Stormwater General Permit (CSWGP)) as a natural process <br /> 18 <br /> I <br /> 19 b. pH monitoring shall be performed in accordance with the CSWGP, or Water <br /> 20 Quality Standards (WQS in accordance with WAC 173-201A (surface) or 173- <br /> 21 200C (ground)) when the CSWGP does not apply <br /> 22 <br /> I <br /> 23 <br /> 24 c. May be neutralized and discharged to surface waters or infiltrated <br /> 25 2. pH Affected Non-Stormwater <br /> ' 26 <br /> 27 a. Conditionally authorized in accordance with CSWGP Special Condition S.1.C., <br /> 28 uncontaminated water contacting green concrete, recycled concrete, or <br /> 29 engineered soils (as defined in the CSWGP) <br /> I 30 <br /> 31 b. Shall not be categorized as cementitious wastewater/concrete wastewater, as <br /> 32 defined below <br /> ' 33 <br /> 34 c. Shall be managed and treated in accordance with the CSWGP, or WQS when the <br /> 35 CSWGP does not apply <br /> I <br /> 36 <br /> 37 d. pH adjustment and dechlorination may be necessary, as specified in the CSWGP <br /> 38 or in accordance with WQS when the CSWGP does not apply <br /> 49 <br /> I40 e. May be neutralized, treated, and discharged to surface waters in accordance with <br /> 41 the CSWGP, with the exception of water-only shaft drilling slurry. Water-only shaft <br /> 42 drilling slurry may be treated, neutralized, and infiltrated but not discharged to <br /> I <br /> 43 surface waters (Refer to Special Conditions S1.C. Authorized Discharges and <br /> 44 S1.d Prohibited Discharges of the CSWGP) <br /> 45 <br /> I 46 3. Cementitious Wastewater/Concrete Wastewater <br /> 47 <br /> 48 a.
