City of Everett 01 11 00 - 1 <br /> 3600 Smith Street Clean Up <br /> i <br /> SECTION 01 11 00 - SUMMARY OF WORK <br /> r <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.1 WORK COVERED BY THIS CONTRACT <br /> ' A. Briefly and without force and effect on requirements of the Contract Document, the City <br /> intends to conduct an independent cleanup of the 4.7 acre former Smith Street Sawmill <br /> under the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA WAC 173-340), with agency review through <br /> ' Ecology's Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP). <br /> B. JOB DESCRIPTION: The following is a general outline, and is not intended to be a <br /> complete listing of the work to be accomplished nor is it intended to be used to indicate <br /> the order the work is to be completed. All items listed below is a general list of items <br /> included in the work and should be verified prior to bidding. The Work includes but is <br /> not limited to the supply and installation of all materials, equipment, and labor necessary <br /> Ito perform the work in full. <br /> C. Base Bid includes the following items: <br /> Ii. Site excavation, fill, and compaction. <br /> 2. Site improvements including removal of contaminated soil, backfill and <br /> compaction. <br /> 3. Preferred method of load out will be direct load. Contractor will minimize stockpiling <br /> of contaminated soil. Dump trucks are to stay on existing impervious surfaces to <br /> reduce potential spread of contaminates. <br /> 4. Site cleanup and restoration. <br /> 5. Demolition and structure moving as covered in Section 02 41 00. <br /> D. Work under the Contract shall also include: <br /> 1. Protection and shoring of existing structures from excessive loading of any type <br /> during the work. <br /> 2. Protection of work in place and all stored items relating to the work. <br /> 3. Moving of any stored items or temporary facility where it interferes with work by <br /> the Owner or under separate contract. <br /> 4. Providing and paying for additional on-site or off-site storage facilities, work areas <br /> or parking needed for safe and efficient execution of the work or to meet other <br /> terms of the contract. <br /> 5. Installing any items noted as furnished by the Owner, installed by the Contractor <br /> (FDIC) <br /> E. CONTRACTS <br /> 1. The Work shall be performed under one Prime Contract and shall consist of all <br /> work being complete and ready for use, as indicated on the drawings and as <br /> specified in these specifications, including alternates agreed upon by the Owner <br /> and the Contractor, at the time of award of the contract, or such later time as <br /> 111 mutually agreed upon by the Owner and the Contractor. <br /> 2. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supplies and other <br /> items necessary to construct and complete the work in accordance with the <br /> 01 11 00 - 1 SUMMARY OF WORK <br />
