City of Everett 01 11 00 - 1 3600 Smith Street Clean Up i SECTION 01 11 00 - SUMMARY OF WORK r PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 WORK COVERED BY THIS CONTRACT ' A. Briefly and without force and effect on requirements of the Contract Document, the City intends to conduct an independent cleanup of the 4.7 acre former Smith Street Sawmill under the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA WAC 173-340), with agency review through ' Ecology's Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP). B. JOB DESCRIPTION: The following is a general outline, and is not intended to be a complete listing of the work to be accomplished nor is it intended to be used to indicate the order the work is to be completed. All items listed below is a general list of items included in the work and should be verified prior to bidding. The Work includes but is not limited to the supply and installation of all materials, equipment, and labor necessary Ito perform the work in full. C. Base Bid includes the following items: Ii. Site excavation, fill, and compaction. 2. Site improvements including removal of contaminated soil, backfill and compaction. 3. Preferred method of load out will be direct load. Contractor will minimize stockpiling of contaminated soil. Dump trucks are to stay on existing impervious surfaces to reduce potential spread of contaminates. 4. Site cleanup and restoration. 5. Demolition and structure moving as covered in Section 02 41 00. D. Work under the Contract shall also include: 1. Protection and shoring of existing structures from excessive loading of any type during the work. 2. Protection of work in place and all stored items relating to the work. 3. Moving of any stored items or temporary facility where it interferes with work by the Owner or under separate contract. 4. Providing and paying for additional on-site or off-site storage facilities, work areas or parking needed for safe and efficient execution of the work or to meet other terms of the contract. 5. Installing any items noted as furnished by the Owner, installed by the Contractor (FDIC) E. CONTRACTS 1. The Work shall be performed under one Prime Contract and shall consist of all work being complete and ready for use, as indicated on the drawings and as specified in these specifications, including alternates agreed upon by the Owner and the Contractor, at the time of award of the contract, or such later time as 111 mutually agreed upon by the Owner and the Contractor. 2. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supplies and other items necessary to construct and complete the work in accordance with the 01 11 00 - 1 SUMMARY OF WORK
