City of Everett 01 25 00 - 1 <br /> 3600 Smith Street Clean Up <br /> SECTION 01 25 00 - SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURES <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.1 GENERAL <br /> A. This Section specifies administrative and procedural requirements governing the <br /> Contractor's selection of products for use in the project, and administrative procedures <br /> for handling requests for substitutions made after award of contract. <br /> 1.2 DEFINITIONS <br /> A. Definitions used in this paragraph are not intended to negate the meaning of other terms <br /> used in the contract documents. <br /> 1. "Products" are items purchased for incorporation in the work, regardless of <br /> whether they were specifically purchased for the project or taken from the <br /> Contractor's previously purchased stock. <br /> 2. "Named Products" are products identified by use of the manufacturer's name for a <br /> ' product, including such items as a make or model designation, as recorded in <br /> published product literature, of the latest issue as of the date of the contract <br /> documents. <br /> 3. "Materials" are products that must be substantially cut, shaped worked, mixed, <br /> finished, refined or to otherwise fabricated, processed, or installed to form units of <br /> work. <br /> ' 4. "Equipment" is defined as a product with operational parts, regardless of whether <br /> motorized or manually operated, and in particular, a product that requires service <br /> connections such as wiring or piping. <br /> 5. The terms "equal", "or equal", "or approved equal" and "or approved" are <br /> synonymous. All proposed "equal" products. materials, and equipment must be <br /> approved by the substitution request process. <br /> 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> ' A. SOURCE LIMITATIONS: Provide product of same kind. to fullest extent possible, from <br /> a single source. <br /> ' B. COMPATIBILITY OF OPTIONS: When Contractor is given the option of selecting <br /> between two or more products for use on the Project, the product selected shall be <br /> compatible with products previously selected, even if previously selected products were <br /> also options. <br /> C. NAME PLATES: Except for required labels and operating data, do not attach or imprint <br /> manufacturers or producer's nameplates or trademark on surfaces of products which will <br /> be exposed to view in occupied spaces or on the exterior. <br /> I <br /> 01 25 00 - 1 SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURES <br />
