City of Everett 00 72 00 -2 , <br /> 3600 Smith Street Clean Up <br /> Drawings: That part of the Contract Documents that graphically shows the scope, extent, and character of <br /> the Work to be performed by Contractor. Shop Drawings and other Contractor Submittals are not <br /> Drawings as so defined. <br /> Effective Date of Agreement: See Section 18.10 EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Engineer: An individual or entity retained by the Owner to be the Owners representative with regard to <br /> matters of design intent. The terms "Owner's Representative", "Engineer" and"Architect" are <br /> interchangeable. <br /> Equipment: Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or other devices with one or more moving parts, or ' <br /> devices requiring an electrical, pneumatic, electronic, or hydraulic connection. <br /> Extended Overhead: The increase in Overhead costs attributable to an extension of Contract Time. <br /> Extra Work: Providing materials and Equipment and the performance of Work not directly called for in, <br /> or implied by,the Contract Documents, such that Contractor would be entitled to an adjustment of <br /> Contract Sum and possibly an extension of Contract Time. <br /> Field Order: A written order issued by Owner's Representative that requires minor changes in the Work, ' <br /> but does not involve a change in the Contract Sum or the Contract Time. <br /> Final Acceptance: Formal action by Everett City Council determining that all of the Contractor's Work <br /> has been completed, except for any landscaping maintenance. <br /> Float: The amount of time between the early start date and the late start date, or the early finish date and <br /> the late finish date of any activity in the project schedule. <br /> Force Account: Costs of performing Work as defined in 9.6.FORCE ACCOUNT. <br /> " Furnish,Install,Perform,Provide, Supply: The word "Furnish" or the word "Install" or the word <br /> "Perform" or the word "Provide" or the word "Supply," or any combination or similar directive or usage <br /> thereof, shall mean furnishing and incorporating in the Work including all necessary labor, materials, <br /> equipment, and everything necessary to perform the Work indicated, unless specifically limited in the <br /> context used. ' <br /> General Conditions: This Section 007200 of the Contract Documents. <br /> May: Conduct that is permitted, but not required. <br /> Milestone: A principal event specified in the Contract documents relating to an intermediate completion <br /> date or time prior to Substantial Completion of all the Work. <br /> Notice: A signed, written communication by the Contractor to the Owner as described in 10. NOTICE <br /> TO OWNER. <br /> Notice to Proceed: The written Notice from the Owner or Owner's Representative to the Contractor <br /> authorizing and directing the Contractor to proceed with the Work and establishing the date on which the <br /> Contract Time begins. Multiple and partial Notices to Proceed may be issued on a single Project. <br /> Over-absorbed Overhead: Over recovery of fixed indirect costs that occurs when a Contractor performs <br /> more overall Work than it otherwise would have performed. <br /> Overhead: For the purpose of calculating additional compensation under this section of the Contract, <br /> Overhead shall include only those costs that are expended for the administration of the business as a <br /> whole. Such costs usually accrue or are incurred due to the passage of time, and cannot be traced to a <br /> particular project or Contract. Examples of possible Overhead costs include, but are not limited to, <br /> General and Administrative salaries and benefits, rent, general company insurance(exclusive of insurance <br /> on owned equipment that is directly job costed), depreciation on office facilities, utilities, maintenance, <br /> office supplies, general company accounting and legal fees(exclusive of amounts expended directly on <br /> any specific project), personal property taxes, general company business licenses, dues and subscriptions. <br /> 00 72 00 - 2 GENERAL CONDITIONS , <br />
