1 9-07.5(2) Corrosion Resistant Dowel Bars (for Cement Concrete Pavement and <br /> 2 Cement Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation) <br /> 3 The first paragraph (up until the colon) is revised to read: <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Corrosion resistant dowel bars shall be 1% inch outside diameter plain round steel bars <br /> 6 or tubular bars 18 inches in length and meet the requirements of one of the following: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Item number 4 and 5 of the first paragraph are revised to read: <br /> 9 <br /> 10 4. Corrosion-resistant, low-carbon, chromium plain steel bars for concrete <br /> 11 reinforcement meeting all the requirements of ASTM A 1035 Alloy Type CS Grade <br /> 12 100 or Alloy Type CS Grade 120. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 5. Zinc Clad dowel bars shall be 1% inch solid bars or 1.625 inch outside diameter by <br /> 15 0.120 inch wall tubular bars meeting the chemical and physical properties of AASHTO <br /> 16 M 31, Grade 60, or AASHTO M 255, Grade 60. The bars shall have a minimum of <br /> 17 0.035 inches A710 Zinc alloy clad to the plain steel inner bar or tube.A710 Zinc shall <br /> 18 be composed of: zinc: 99.5 percent, by weight, minimum; copper: 0.1-0.25 percent, <br /> 19 by weight; and iron: 0.0020 percent, by weight, maximum. Each end of tubular bars <br /> 20 shall be plugged using a snug-fitting insert to prohibit any intrusion of concrete or <br /> 21 other materials. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The numbered list in the first paragraph is supplemented with the following: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 6. Multicoated fusion bonded epoxy bars shall consist of an ASTM A615 bar with <br /> 26 alternating layers of ASTM A934 coating and an abrasion resistant overcoat (ARO). <br /> 27 The ASTM A934 coating shall form the base and there shall be two layers of each <br /> 28 coating material. The minimum thickness of the combined layers of the ASTM A934 <br /> 29 coating and ARO coating shall be 20 mils. The ARO shall meet the following <br /> 3G requirements: <br /> 31 <br /> Test Method Specification <br /> Gouge NACE TM0215, 30 kg wt., LS-1 bit < 0.22 mm <br /> Resistance I @ 25°C <br /> Gouge NACE TM0215, 50 kg wt., LS-1 bit < 0.44 mm <br /> Resistance @ 25°C <br /> 32 <br /> 33 7. ASTM A513 steel tubes made from Grade 60 Carbon Steel Tube with a 1.625 inch <br /> 34 outside diameter and a 0.120 inch wall thickness. Both the inside and outside of the <br /> 35 tube shall be zinc coated with G90 galvanizing in accordance with ASTM A653. <br /> 36 Following zinc coating the tubes shall be coated in accordance with Section 9-07.5(1) <br /> 37 item 1. The ends of the tube shall be capped to prevent intrusion of concrete or other <br /> 38 materials. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 The last paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Stainless Steel Clad and Stainless Steel Tube Dowel bar ends shall be sealed with a <br /> 43 patching material (primer and finish coat) used for patching epoxy-coated reinforcing steel <br /> 44 as required in Section 9-07.3, item 6. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 9-07.7 Wire Mesh <br /> 47 This section is supplemented with the following: <br /> CITY OF EVERETT AMENDMENTS <br /> PACIFIC AVENUE TO INTERURBAN TRAIL BICYCLE SAFETY PROJECT 8/12/2019 <br /> STATE FUND#HLP PB17(014); COE#PW3688 Page AM-122 <br />
