1 6-02.3(13)A Strip Seal Expansion Joint System <br /> 2 In item number 3 of the third paragraph, "Federal Standard 595" is revised to read "SAE AMS <br /> 3 Standard 595". <br /> 4 <br /> 5 6-02.3(13)B Compression Seal Expansion Joint System <br /> 6 The first paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Compression seal glands shall conform to Section 9-04.1(4) and be sized as shown in the <br /> 9 Plans, <br /> 10 <br /> 11 6-02.3(14)C Pigmented Sealer for Concrete Surfaces <br /> 12 This section is supplemented with the following new paragraph: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Pigmented Sealer Materials shall be a product listed in the current WSDOT Qualified <br /> 15 Products List (QPL). If the pigmented sealer material is not listed in the current WSDOT <br /> 16 QPL, a sample shall be submitted to the State Materials Laboratory in Tumwater for <br /> 17 evaluation and acceptance in accordance with Section 9-08.3. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 6-02.3(20) Grout for Anchor Bolts and Bridge Bearings <br /> 20 The second, third and fourth paragraphs are revised to read: <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Grout shall be a workable mix with a viscosity that is suitable for the intended application. <br /> 23 Grout shall not be placed outside of the manufacturer recommended range of thickness. <br /> 24 The Contractor shall receive concurrence from the Engineer before using the grout. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Field grout cubes and cylinders shall be fabricated and tested in accordance with Section <br /> 27 9-20.3 when requested by the Engineer, but not less than once per bridge pier or once <br /> 28 per day. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Before placing grout, the substrate on which it is to be placed shall be prepared as <br /> 31 recommended by the manufacturer to ensure proper bonding. The grout shall be cured as <br /> 32 recommended by the manufacturer. The grout may be loaded when a minimum of 4,000 <br /> 33 psi compressive strength is attained. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 The fifth paragraph is deleted. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 6-02.3(23) Opening to Traffic <br /> 38 This section is supplemented with the following new paragraph: <br /> 39 <br /> 40 After curing bridge approach slabs in accordance with Section 6-02.3(11), the <br /> 41 bridge approach slabs may be opened to traffic when a minimum compressive strength <br /> 42 of 2,500 psi is achieved. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 6-02.3(24)C Placing and Fastening <br /> 45 This section is revised to read: <br /> 46 <br /> 47 The Contractor shall position reinforcing steel as the Plans require and shall ensure that <br /> 48 the steel is set within specified tolerances.
