U <br /> conditions. If the supplier is unable to meet the City's schedule,then the City will <br /> contract with another awarded company. <br /> -B. Emergency Response Time for Tree Removal-The Supplier must arrive on the job <br /> site within four(4) hours of notification by the City for emergency tree removal <br /> service with all equipment necessary to complete the job. <br /> 2.10 SAFETY STANDARDS <br /> All equipment utilized in the work performed shall be-in full\compliance with the most current <br /> revision of the American National Standards institute,Standard Z-133.1-Safety Requirements <br /> for Pruning,Trimming, Repairing, Maintaining, Removing Trees and for Cutting Brush; and L&I <br /> requirements. <br /> The Contractor will be solely responsible for private and public property,pedestrian and <br /> vehicular safety and control, and must provide the necessary warning devices,barricades,and <br /> ground personnel needed to provide safety, protection, and warning to person's-and vehicular <br /> traffic within the work site.Contractor must provide qualified supervision of each crew at all <br /> times while working under this contract. <br /> A. Working in Proximity to Electrical Hazards-The Contractor's tree worker and the supervisor <br /> shall perform an inspection to determine,whether an electrical conductor passes through the <br /> tree or passes within reaching distance'of the tree priorto any tree worker climbing,entering, <br /> or working around any tree. Contractor must take all prudent electrical safety measures that <br /> include shielding, de-energizing the line,or utilizing a qualified line clearance tree trimmer. <br /> B. Protection of Overhead Utilities-Tree trimming and removal operations may be conducted in <br /> areas where overhead electric,telephone, and cable television facilities exist. Contractor must <br /> implement all prudent safety related measures to protect all utilities from damage, and must <br /> immediately contact the'appropriate utility if damage should occur, and shall be responsible for <br /> all clains'of damage due to the Contractor's operations. The Contractor shall make <br /> arrangements with all overhead utilities(including but not limited to electrical)for removal of all <br /> necessary lice sand branches that may conflict with or create injury hazard in conducting the <br /> operations ofthekwork. <br /> C. Protection of Underground Utilities-The Contractor shall be responsible for contacting the <br /> appropriate utility to locate underground utilities or services(including but not limited to <br /> electrical) in the work area that may be damaged by the Contractor's operation; in particular for <br /> any excavation stump grinding work. The contractor will also locate and protect all utilities in <br /> the fall area or work zone. <br /> 2.11 CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION <br /> The City of Everett is prohibited from executing a contract with a Contractor who is not <br /> registered or licensed as required by state law. <br /> 42 <br /> 11 <br />
