I have a one-half sized set of the
drawings which I will drop off at your office in the very near future.
The Structural Notes on Drawing S-5 show that the roof was designed for the following loads:
Snow Load =25 psf
Dead Load= 15 psf
Using the roof assembly information you provided, I calculated the follow dead loads for the roof:
5.2"thick polyiso insulation = 0.87 psf (2 pcf density)
'A" Sarnatherm M= 0.38 psf(per manufacturer)
Sarnafil G410 60 mil roof membrane= 0.39 psf(per manufacturer)
OSB Sheathing= 1.7 psf(per Boise Cascade)
6 mil Polyethylene Vapor Barrier= 0.03 psf
2x6 @ 24"o.c. Roof Framing= 1.7 psf(per Boise Cascade)
36LH09 Steel Joists a, 10' o.c. = 2.1 psf(per Vulcraft)
Total DL= 7.17 psf
Based on the Structural Notes there appears to be approximately 6 psf for miscellaneous loads such
as light fixtures and fire sprinklers which I believe to be a sufficient allowance.
I then checked the adequacy of the actual framing members.
2x6#2 DF Adequate for a 12 psf DL
36LH09 Steel Joists Adequate for an 18 psf DL
32LH08 Steel Joist Adequate for a 15 psf DL
44G 4N 20.5K Steel Joist Girder Adequate for a 14 psf DL
44G 4N 19.5K Steel Joist Girder Adequate for a 14 psf DL
44G 5N 19.5K Steel Joist Girder Adequate for a 14 psf DL
