(1.16.260). <br /> Section 27: The appointment of all employees in all departments, <br /> where required by the City Charter, shall be subject to Civil Service regu- <br /> lations of the City of Everett, providing in event vacancies occur and there <br /> is no eligibility list from which said vacancy may be filled, temporary <br /> appointment may be made of persons without Civil Service standing. <br /> The Special City Attorney shall be appointed by the City Council. <br /> The Assistant and Special Examiners in the Civil Service Department <br /> shall be appointed by the Civil Service Commission. <br /> The Clerk of the Municipal Court Department shall be appointed by <br /> the Municipal Judge, subject to confirmation by the City Council. <br /> The assistants and employees in the Department of Finance shall <br /> be appointed by the Commissioner of Finance. <br /> The officers, except City Engineer, assistants and employees in the <br /> Department of Public Works shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public <br /> Works. <br /> The City Council shall appoint a City Clerk, City Attorney, Treasurer <br /> and City Engineer, as provided by Section 24 of the Charter. <br /> -la- <br />
