ail/ if` <br /> ORDINANCE NO. -7 / � <br /> 1 AN ORDINANCE regulating the installation, alterationv maintenance <br /> and repair of all electrical wires, equipment and apparatus, providing for <br /> 2 the adoption of the National Electrical Code, l965� the rules and regulations <br /> of the Department of Labor and Industries of the State of Washington, dated <br /> 3 September 1, 1964, the Department of Labor and Industries Electricians and <br /> Electrical Installations Law of the State of Washington, revised 1965, and <br /> 4 Bulletin 5.01-5 National Fire Protection Association Mobile Homes and Travel <br /> Trailers, 1461 publication, providing for permits, charges; and providing for <br /> 5 penalty of violation thereof, and repealing Chapter 2.0E0, City Code of the <br /> City of Everett, Ordinance No. 1655^ <br /> 6 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 7 <br /> Section 1: DEFINITIONS. The word /`peraoo/' whenever used in this <br /> 8 chapter shall be held and construed to mean, and include natural persons of <br /> either sex, associations, co-partnerships and corporations, whether acting <br /> 9 by themselves or by a servant, agent or employee; the singular number shall <br /> be held to include the plural and the masculine pronoun to include the feminine. <br /> 10 <br /> The word ninmpeotnr" whenever used in this chapter shall be held <br /> 11 and construed to mean and include the City Electrical Inspector of the City of <br /> Everett or any of his duly authorized assistants. <br /> 12 <br /> The word /`should'/ whenever used in this ordinance or in the National <br /> 13 Electrical Code shall be interpreted to mean "shall". <br /> 14 The words 'electrical equipmenf`/ wherever used in this chapter, <br /> shall be held and construed to mean and include any electrical wires, appliances, <br /> 15 apparatus or electrical construction of any kindv except such as are or may be <br /> used for telmphonm: telegraph or traffic signal purposes^ installed or used <br /> 16 in any building or structure in the City of Everett. <br /> 17 The word /`approvmd/` wherever used in this chapter, shall be held and <br /> construed to moan and include the approval of the City Electrical Inspector. <br /> 18 <br /> "Waterfront area// shall be defined as all areas adjacent to Port <br /> 19 Gardner Bay and/"r the Snohomish River and situated on the bay and/or river <br /> side of the Great Northern Railway trackage that circumvents the City of <br /> 20 Everett shall , for the purposes of this ordinance, be considered as, and <br /> classified waterfront areas. <br /> 21 <br /> Section 2: INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS. From and after the adoption <br /> 22 of this ordinanoev all installation of wires and equipment to carry electrical <br /> current and the installation and the alteration and extension of all eleo- <br /> 23 trical equipment shall be in strict confurmity with this ordinance, the <br /> National Electrical Code edited by the National Board of Fire Underwriters <br /> 24 and recommended by the National FireProtectiun Association for 1965, and the <br /> rules and regulations for installing electrical wires and equipment, as issued <br /> 25 ' by the Department of Labor and Industries of the State of Washington! issued <br /> September 1, 1964, also the Department of Labor and Industries Electricians <br /> 26 and Electrical Installations Law of the State of Washington, 'Revised 1965, <br /> and Bulletin 5.01-5; National Fire Protection Association Mobile Homes and <br /> 27 Travel Trailers, 1961 publication. In case of conflict^ the specific pro- <br /> visions of this ordinance shall prevail over the codes adopted. In case of <br /> 28 conflict between codes adopto6» the stricter shall prevail. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
