SU85URFACE EXPLORATION AND <br />GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING REPORT <br />EVERETT MALL WAY COMMERCIAL CENTER <br />EVERETT, WASHINGTON <br />a <br />1.0 INTRODUC710N � <br />This report preseqts the results of our subsurface exploration and geotechnical <br />engineering study canducted at the above referenced 'property. The proposed <br />projects and approximate locations of the explorations accomplished for this <br />study are presented on the Site and Exploration Plan, Figure 1. <br />The purpose of this study was to establish the general subsurface conditions at <br />the sites from which conclusions and recommendations for foundation design and <br />constructfon could be formulated. The scope of work consisted of field <br />explorations and geotechnical engineering analysis. The field exploration <br />program for this study consisted of excavating 14 backhoe test pits. Exploration <br />procedures are presented in a subsequent section of this report and <br />interpretative logs of the explorations are presented in Appendix A. <br />Written authorization to proceed with this study was granted by Mr. Jim Bakke of <br />James Bakke, Inc. on 11 April 1985. This report has been prepared for the <br />exclusive use of James Bakke. Inc.. Harmon and Associates, and their agents. for <br />specific application to this project in accordance with generally accepted <br />.� <br />yeotechnical engineering practice. , <br />2.0 SITE AND PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />The site under consideration is located on the south side of Southeast Everett <br />Mall Way. west of Everett Mall Village. At the present time there is a small <br />bank building located on the north side of the property on Southeast Everett Mall <br />Nay. A yroup of mature fir trees s2ands just west of an existing office buiiding <br />and a wetlands region extends south from the south side of the property. The <br />
