As the
sprinkler contractor, your firm may not be under contract for some of the following information; however, the
documentation of scope of this work (by others) is required on the sprinkler drawings to obtain a sprinkler
permit.
1. 1605 SE Everett Mall Way currently has an 8" Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA), with an
unapproved 3/a inch bypass. A state approved Double Check Detector Assembly (DCDA) is required for
fire services, per Everett Design and Construdion Standards Section 5-3.
2. A new doub!c-check detector valve assembly (DCDA) should be shown on the drewings to repiace the
DCVA that ou records indicate on the fire service of this building.
a. A Public Works permit will be required. Please contact Benyam Stephanos, Public Works Plan
Reviewer, to discuss this requirement, or if you have questions about Public Works plan review
for the fire service. Benyam Stephanos can be reached at 425-257-7289.
3. All replacements of a single check detector to a double check detector should be installed by a private
contractor, since the city only installs new services upon request.
4. The fire service for this tenant space should be shown from ttie tenant space to the city main on a site
plan, including the new cross connection (DCDA) and model number.
5. The revised sprinkler submittal will require three copies of the followin9, so that the submittal can be
reviewed:
a. A catalo9 cut indicating the DCDA manufacturer's model in the'BarkFlow Prevention Assemblies
Approved for Installation in Washington State', publislied by the Washington State Department
of Health, current edition.
b. A plan and section of the intended location and instailation of the DCDA. The DCDA can be
located in an interior or an eerior location, to comply with City of Everett Standard
Construction Drawings 515 or 523, attached.
c. The model number of the DCDA should be show on the drawings.
//
