in conformity with this and other applicable ordinances, rules and regulations <br /> of the City. <br /> A water service connection shall be installed only where a building or <br /> building material is located on the premises to be served except in an extra- <br /> ordinary circumstance. Such exception must first be approved by the Super- <br /> intendent before it will be allowed. <br /> Section 16: Location of Service Cock Or Meter and Piping. <br /> a. The location of the service cock or meter for each service con- <br /> nection shall be designated by the Water Department and the customer request- <br /> ing a service connection shall install his water service pipe to the designated <br /> point before the Water Department will make the connection thereto. <br /> b. A service connection for a given`premises shall be installed on <br /> the same lot or parcel which is occupied, wholly or in part, by the building or <br /> structure served. Service pipes, either temporary or permanent, shall not <br /> be extended to buildings or structures on other lots or parcels. No person <br /> nor customer receiving water from the Water System shall be permitted to <br /> supply water to any other premises at any time except with the full knowledge <br /> and prior approval of the Water Department. <br /> c. Service pipes shall not be installed nor extended across streets <br /> or alleys by customers unless specifically approved by the Water Department <br /> prior to such installation and a permit is obtained by the customer from the <br /> City Engineer's office. <br /> Section 17: Tapping Mains - Turn Ons and Shut Offs - Authorized <br /> Personnel. Only authorized employees of the Water Department shall be <br /> allowed to tap any water main and install service pipes between said water <br /> main and the service cock or meter, or to connect pipes where they have <br /> been disconnected, or to shut water off or turn water on to any premises. <br /> -10- <br />
