• <br /> prescribed above, it will be assumed to have been done for the customer's <br /> specific convenience and there shall be a special charge made for such shut <br /> off or turn on in the amount shown in Section 72 of this Ordinance and such <br /> special charge shall be added to and considered a part of the regular water <br /> billing for the premises. <br /> Section 23: Turn On and Shut Off - Use Of Stop and Waste Valves. <br /> If the Water Department is requested to shut off and/or turn on the water <br /> service to a premises to enable the owner, tenant or other person to make <br /> repairs or to replace piping, fixtures or other similar repairs or alterations <br /> affecting the water service to such premises, and if such repairs, alterations <br /> or replacements could normally have been made by use of stop and waste <br /> valves as required for all premises in Section 19 of this Ordinance, there <br /> shall be a special charge made for such shut off and/or turn on in the amount <br /> shown in Section 72 of this Ordinance and such charge shall be added to and <br /> considered a part of the regular water billing for the premises. <br /> Section 24: Discontinuing Service - Notice Required - Closing Bill. <br /> Should a customer desire to discontinue the use of water supplied to any <br /> premises, notice in writing must be given to the Water Department. The <br /> water shall then be shut off by the Water Department and no other person. <br /> If a premises is being vacated or the customer moving to another location <br /> or leaving for an extended period of time, the customer shall pay the closing <br /> water bill for the premises at the time water service is discontinued. No <br /> remission of rates shall be made without the written notice described in <br /> this Section and the furnishing of such written notice shall be a prerequisite <br /> and incumbent upon the person requesting the shut off. <br /> Section 25 Resuming Service - Notice Required - Arrears Payment. <br /> Should it be desired to resume water service to a premises after the service <br /> has been shut off, a written notice by the owner or his authorized agent shall <br /> be given to the Water Department after which the water shall be turned on, <br /> -13- <br />
