The cost of materials for installation <br /> of such service pipe crossings shall be borne by the developer or local improve- <br /> ment district paying for the distribution system piping. The cost of labor and <br /> equipment rental for installation of such service pipe crossings shall be borne <br /> by the Water Department. This Section shall in no manner alter or reduce <br /> the connection charge nor application procedure for a new service as set <br /> forth elsewhere herein. <br /> Section 32: Illegal Turn On - Misdemeanor. Any person turning <br /> water on to any premises after it has been shut off by the Water Department <br /> shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. In such case the water will be <br /> shut off and will not be turned on again until all charges, including penalties, <br /> shall have been paid. <br /> Section 33: Illegal Taking of Water - Misdemeanor. Any person or <br /> persons who shall take or use water from the Water System without having <br /> previously contracted for the same as provided in this Ordinance shall be <br /> deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> Section 34: Wasting Water Prohibited - Penalty. Owners of premises <br /> receiving fixed rate water service from the Water System shall be responsible <br /> for maintaining all piping, fixtures and appurtenances on the customer's side <br /> of the service cock in a satisfactory state of repair so that no water will be <br /> wasted. When it is found that water is being wasted on a premise because of <br /> faulty or leaking piping, fixtures or appurtenances or for any other reason, <br /> the consumer shall be notified of such wastage by the Water Department and <br /> instructed to take corrective action. If the consumer should fail or refuse to <br /> comply with the notice, the water to the premises may be shut off until proper <br /> corrective action has been taken and a penalty charge of Five Dollars ($5. 00) <br /> assessed against the premises before water service is restored. Such <br /> penalty charge shall be considered as a part of the water billing for the <br /> premises and may be added thereto. In lieu of this remedy, the Water <br /> -16- <br />
