• Section 53: Single Service For Fire Protection and Other Use. In <br /> the event both fire protection and other water service is provided to a premises <br /> through a single connection, an approved fire service meter shall be installed <br /> and all water consumed through such meter shall be paid for at the applicable <br /> metered rate without credit for water which may be used for fire suppression <br /> purposes. <br /> Section 54: Fire Service To Premises With Separate Water Supply. <br /> The Water System shall be made available for private fire protection systems <br /> which incorporate, or may have access to any water supply other than that <br /> provided through the Water System, by the following methods only: <br /> a. An elevated tank or standpipe supplied at the top, and with <br /> sufficient aiimgap above the overflow. Such elevated tank or standpipe may <br /> then be conne cted to the fire protection system piping without a by-pass or <br /> interconnection between the fire protection system piping and the supply con- <br /> nection from the Water System main, or <br /> b. Construction of a ground storage tank or reservoir supplied at <br /> the top, and with sufficient air-gap above the overflow. A pump taking its <br /> suction from such ground storage tank or reservoir may be installed for <br /> pumping to an elevated tank and/or directly to the fire protection system <br /> pipe, or <br /> c. Two independent systems of piping without any by-pass or inter- <br /> connection whatsoever, one being supplied from the Water System and the <br /> other from the independent water supply. <br /> Section 55: Fire Service - Supplied By Everett System Only. The <br /> Water System shall be made available for private fire protection systems <br /> not incorporating nor having access to any water supply other than through <br /> the Water System. Such private fire protection systems may include auto- <br /> matic sprinkler heads, standpipes, hose racks and connections, inside and <br /> outside hose outlets and hydrants and such other appurtenances as approved <br /> -25- <br />
