The <br /> project does not appear to include a geotechnical investigation of the project site soils. <br /> Based on the location of the project site,the design soil load bearing values shall not exceed <br /> the presumptive values of Table 1806.2. The design values shall not exceed those for Class <br /> 5 materials without classification of the site soils or performance of a geotechnical <br /> investigation by a qualified geotechnical engineer. The allowable soil bearing strength shall <br /> not exceed 1,500 psf. The design value shall be specified in the "Soils, Foundations, and <br /> Slabs"section of the General Notes on Sheet S-1.00. See IBC Sections 1603.1.6, 1603.1.8, <br /> 1803.1, 1803.5.1, 1803.5.2, and 1806.2. <br /> Response to Geotechnical Item #1: <br /> The calculations have been corrected to specify the minimum soil bearing pressure of 1,500 <br /> psf per IBC Table 1806.2.The assumed foundation bearing pressure was added to the <br /> drawing general notes, "Soils, Foundations, and Slabs."
