I will forward your nomination to
Paul Kaftanski, Director of the Parks Department. I believe it is the historical commission who is making the
recommendations on naming the plaza.
We're putting together ideas for events, concerts, theatre performances and art happenings to fill the plaza with
activity. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them!
Thanks for the plaza naming suggestion,
Carol
From: Craig Skotdal[mailto:craig.skotdal(askotdal.com]
Sent: Friday, December 28, 2012 4:02 PM
To: Carol Thomas
Subject: Theatre Plaza.
Hi, Carol:
Since it appears public comment is being solicited for naming the new plaza, I thought I'd add my two cents:
I support "Theatre Plaza" as a name since it reflects the location between the EPAC and Second Stage Theater. The
name also speaks to the function of the plaza as it was designed to accommodate outdoor performances. Moroever, if
you're trying to promote Everett as a cultural center, the preferred name will help solidify the idea of having a theater
district.
I'm sure you've already thought of all of this, so consider this email to be an endorsement of those ideas.
Everett Tribune Article
http://www.snoho.com/Stories%202012/121912 plazanames.html
Thanks,
Craig
1
