State of Washington Department of Ecology Page 2 of 22 <br /> Agreement No: AQVWTRAN-1921-CiEvTS-00012 <br /> Project Title: Transit Bus Replacement <br /> Recipient Name: City of Everett Transportation Services <br /> vehicles operate in house for complementary ADA paratransit services.In 2018,Everett Transit had a recorded <br /> ridership of over 1.8 million. <br /> Everett Transit is replacing an aging diesel bus fleet with electric buses.By the year 2022,the agency's fixed route fleet <br /> will be 50%electric.The first four electric buses were in service at the end of 2018 and were placed on the agency's <br /> highest capacity route,Route 7. With over one million riders per year,this route serves the City of Everett's most <br /> vulnerable populations and highly impacted(air quality)communities. <br /> Three additional fixed route electric buses have been received in 2019 and will be placed on the Waterfront to College <br /> Station route.This is a newly expanded route that will be further expanded to serve the Riverfront community when <br /> completed. <br /> Federal funding from Section 5339 Infrastructure Investment program will allow Everett Transit to purchase two more <br /> electric buses and chargers to be ordered in June/July of 2019. <br /> Federal CMAQ funds have been awarded to Everett Transit in 2020 to purchase nine additional electric buses and <br /> chargers.Award letter from Puget Sound Regional Council attached. <br /> In total,Everett Transit will have 18 new,40'low floor electric buses to replace diesel buses from 12 to 24 years old. <br /> Overall Goal: <br /> Reduce toxic emissions and greenhouse gases from older transit buses to achieve cleaner air. <br /> Template Version 10/30/2015 <br />
