^ Campbell-Fleury Investments/Mallwest CPnter W-3103-1 9 April 1986 Page 2 2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project site is located at the intersection of Everett Mall Way and rloward Avenue in Everett, Washington. The site is roughly triangular in sfiape, and extends roughly 390 feet in the east-west direction and 195 feet �n the north-south direction. The lot size is approximately one acr•e in plan area. The proposed project calis for the construction of an office and light warehouse building. The proposed structure would be a twe-story, wood-1`rame, slab-on-grade building. The building — will occupy the western portion of the triangle-shaped parcel. The remainder of the site will be landscaped or asphalt-paved for parking and access roads. The purpose of tfiis study was to establish general subsurface conditions at the site from tahich conclusions and recommendations for foundation design and construction for the project could be formulated. The scope of work consisted of field explorations, geotechnical enginee-ing analyses and report preparation. In the event of major changes in t5e nature, design or location of the structures, the • conclusions and recommendations contained in this project snould be reviewed and - modified as necessary, to reflect these changes. This report has been prepared for - the exclusive use of Campbell-Fleury Investments and members of their design team, for specific application to this report, in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical engineering practices. 3.0 SITE CONDITIONS Site conditions were evaluated for this studv on 3 April 1986. The surface and subsurface conditions are described below, while the exploration procedures and � interpretive logs of ttie explorations are presented in Appendix A. The proposed - site development plan and the approximate locations of the explorations accomplished �-- for this study are indicated on th� Site and Exploration Plan, Fiyure 1, �. 3.1 Surface Conditions „ The topography of the site is relatively flat-lying. Dec�duous trees were noted along the west side and eastern third of the site. The remainder of the site is occupied by grasses and low-lying shrubbei�y. A culvert runs diagonally beneath the
