L
Supplemental topographic survey will field survey existing surface features including topography
breaks,pavement,curbs,gutter,sidewalks and other hardscape,channelization and signing,trees and
other landscaping, fences, invert elevations and pipe dimensions of existing storm drainage.
1.3 Prepare Additional 30%-Design Plans/Modify Previous Plan Set
Consultant will prepare additional drawings and revise/modify the previous plan set to incorporate
the proposed additional improvements. Consultant will prepare 30%-level design and prepare 28
additional plan and profile drawings required for the proposed segments of sewer replacement and
the new storm sewer/catch basin system.Consultant will modify the existing plan set to reflect
separate drawing groups for replacement of existing sanitary sewer and the construction of new
storm sewer. The revised plan set is anticipated to consist of the following:
• General Information and Survey Control 6 drawings
• Sanitary Sewer Replacement Plan/Profile 24 drawings
• New Storm Sewer Plan/Profile 23 drawings
1.4 Final Hydraulic Analysis/Selection of Stormwater Separation and Treatment Facilities
Consultant will meet with the City staff to review the alternative analyses previously prepared by
Otak and further assist the City make a final determination on implementing stormwater separation. .
Consultant will perform hydraulic analysis, develop anticipated flow rates, and develop the final pipe
configuration, treatment facilities, and other necessary components for the separated systems within
the East Grand project area.Consultant will assess feasibility of implementing Green Stormwater
Infrastructure(GSI)BMPs and identify conveyance capacity needs and necessary requirements for
discharge future storm water separation areas west of I-5 through the proposed separated East
Grand storm drainage system.
Consultant will work with city staff to determine the most appropriate construction phasing for the
proposed improvements(sewer replacement and stormwater separation) and based on the proposed
configuration;anticipated construction costs;and other factors, define the project into two
construction bid packages.
The analyses, proposed improvements, and other considerations will be summarized in a design
report, which will focus on water quality treatment, proposed improvements, and recommendation
for potential phased implementation. This report will be submitted with the 30%design
plan/profiles to the City for review and comment.Consultant will incorporate comments,
prepare/submit final report which will provide the basis for final design of the proposed
improvements and submittal to grant funding agency for concurrence.
1.5 Coordination with Existing Utility Agencies
Consultant will initially coordinate and obtain records from utility companies to verify locations of
existing facilities and confirm agency requirements.Consultant will review record drawings and
verify the utility horizontal locations surveyed and shown on the design base maps.
Sewer System Replacement. and Capacity Improvements Project 8
otak
KAproiect\31500\31520\Contract\Amend4\AmendFour\AmendmentFour021413.docc
9
