The Sewer "L" North Area was <br /> constructed in 2011 and preliminary design of East Grand Sewer Replacement and Hayes Street Combined <br /> Sewer Overflow (CSO) Capacity Improvements have been completed. During 2012, the City of Everett <br /> obtained a $1 million grant from Washington Dept of Ecology which will go towards engineering and <br /> construction costs for storm water improvements for the East Grand project. This project will also address <br /> overflows at the CSO Snohomish River outfalls which will be brought into compliance with State of <br /> Washington law(WAC 173-245)—not more than one overflow event per year per outfall site. <br /> The scope of Amendment No. 4 is to supplement the design budget for the cost of work to perform <br /> supplemental system analysis, hydraulic modeling, preparation of plans and specifications, construction <br /> support services and also extends the contract expiration date. The current authorized budget total is <br /> $1,173,600 and will become $2,423,066 with inclusion of Amendment No. 4, in the amount of$1,249,466. <br /> Up to $120,000 of this engineering work will be reimbursed to the City by the Washington Dept of Ecology <br /> Grant funds. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 4 with Otak,Inc. to provide engineering services for the East <br /> Grand Sewer and Stormwater Project and Overflow Reduction at Hayes Street area for an additional <br /> $1,249,466. <br /> 1 <br />
