January 8, 2014 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., January 8, 2014 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, President Moore presiding. <br /> OATH OF OFFICE <br /> Judge Pro Tern Remy Leonard administered the oath of office to Mayor <br /> Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore and Murphy. <br /> Mayor Stephanson introduced his wife, son, daughter and grandchildren <br /> who were in the audience. <br /> The Mayor stated that the city has many challenges and opportunities <br /> ahead. He remarked that we have gone through a difficult period, but as <br /> we look to the general economy of the area going forward, we have <br /> reason to be positive. He expressed how blessed he feels to work with <br /> council members who love the city and bring unique experience and <br /> education to their work. <br /> Council Members Roberts and Murphy reiterated the Mayor's comments. <br /> Council President Moore introduced his wife and son who were in <br /> attendance. <br /> President Moore remarked on the council member's depth and breadth of <br /> knowledge and how they work together collaboratively with a diversity of <br /> backgrounds and opinions. <br /> Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members <br /> Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Gipson, Bader and Anderson were present. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher was excused. <br /> Council Member Anderson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the December 31, 2013 City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> 1 <br />
